  • The well-known work al-Kalim at-Tayyib by Ibn Taymiyyah has been widely recognized as one of the best medium-sized books giving direct access to invocations (dua) and supplications (dhikr) to be used in worship on particular occasions. Sheikh al-Islam Ahmad Abd Al-Halim ibn Taymiyyah was on of the outstanding scholars of the seventh century A.H. He was well known for his in compromising adherence to the sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and for combating objectionable innovations. He died in Damascus in A.H 728. The book is here presented in a shortened version, thus making it a useful manual of prayer. The translation has been made by two scholars whose previous books have gained general approval for their accuracy and readability. The translation is provided with notes and appropriate explanations. The book includes an introduction dealing with dua and dhikr in a Muslim’s prayers and circumstances of daily life; it also gives the sources of such dua and dhikr that are authentic and reviews similar collections that have been made. In addition it deals with question of the permissibility or otherwise of employing translations of dua and dhikr. A companion to the translators’ previous publications in the field of Hadith, the present book has been printed in similar format with the original Arabic text given for ease of reference.

( Hisn Almuslim ) Fortress of the Muslim: Invocations From The Quran And Sunnah

    August 25, 2008

Saeed Bin Ali Bin Wahf Al-Qahtani | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 58 | Size: 2.5 MB
Fortress of the Muslim, Invocations from the Quran and Sunnah: is a very beautiful booklet consists of many authentic Dua’s (supplications) for a Muslim to supplicate on a daily basis and on special occasions.

    Author’s Note

This book is an abridgment of my earlier work entitled, Adh-Dhikr wad-Du’a wal-’llaj bir-Ruqyah mina’-Kitab was-Sunnah. In order to make it small and easily portable, I have chosen only the section on words of remembrance for this abridgment. To achieve this, I only mentioned the text of the words of remembrance instead of the entire Hadith. I also limited myself to mentioning only one or two references from the original book for each Hadith. Whoever would like to know about the Companion who related a particular Hadith, or more information about where it is recorded, should refer to the original work (mentioned above). I ask Allah the Glorious, the Mighty, by His beautiful Names and by His sublime Attributes to accept this as having been done sincerely for His sake alone. I ask Him to bring me its benefits during my lifetime and after my death. May those who read it, those who print it, or have had any role in distributing it, benefit from it also. Surely He, glory be unto Him, is Capable of all things. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet, Muhammad, and upon his family and Companions and whoever follows them in piety until the Day of Judgment.

    The Answered Supplication

    August 25, 2008

    The Answered Supplication

    Muhammad Mitwaly Ash-Sha‘rawy | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 56 | Size: 1 MB
Supplication is a call from an inferior to the superior, only addressed to he whose power surpasses that of the supplicant. With The Almighty, we supplicate Him because nothing in the entire universe is beyond His Power. If you want anything your means are powerless to fulfill, you cry for the Help of The Most High in the whole universe, Who is indeed above all means, instruments and causes. You turn to the Power and Might that created this universe and originated its causes crying, ‘O Lord,’ so that He, all praise and glory be to Him, fulfills to you what your resources have failed to make happen. Supplication is always for a thing you believe is prosperous for you. Every one of us wishes for goodness, measured from his own viewpoint and based on the extent of his knowledge. He sees that money is good for him so he begs for it, and he sees that authority is good for him so he begs Allah to have it. Even when you curse others, you want to quench the anger harbored in your heart against the one who treated you unjustly or unrightfully seized a possession of yours.
