This is a small booklet concerning the fundamental precepts of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah with regard to their beliefs and creed; each issue being presented to the reader in a clear, point by point form. The author prepared this booklet in response to the request of many students of knowledge, as well as the general Muslims, who expressed the need for a clear, yet concise presentation of the fundamentals of the creed of the Pious Predecessors. It is for this reason that this presentation is free from the details, definitions, evidences, names of personalities, quotations and footnotes that are quite often necessary for something of this nature.

Why should an intellectual embrace Islam? We shall try to prove herein that the truth and perfect of the Qur’an, revealed between the years 611 and 632 A.C could not have possible been the work of Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him), the Prophet of Islam (Peace be Upon Him), nor of any human being in history. It could only have been an outside revelation of Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) from a most knowledgeable super-natural source. The role of the Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) did not exceed that of an honest Messenger, as well as a human model for all mankind. Our approach will be both scientific and historical. We shall repeatedly underline certain verses of the Qur’an that have stated or pointed to some modern scientific facts and concepts, in unequivocally precise terms. Such facts and concepts were beyond the reach of human knowledge at the time of revelation and for centuries thereafter. This establishes beyond doubt that the source of Qur’an is: Superior to mankind, Absolutely Knowledgeable, and Most Truthful.

This is a basic self-study course of Islam. Islam, the last of the messages of Allah (SWT), the Creator, to mankind, is a universal guidance to the human race everywhere, up to the end of times. Islamic teachings are embodied in the Holy Qur’an. The Word of Allah (SWT), revealed to the Seal of Messengers, Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him). The Prophet’s teachings and life are considered to be a detailed interpretation and a human model for the message. This book features a comprehensive outline of the knowledge essential for every Muslim. The outlines are essentially translated summaries of the twelve Arabic textbooks. They cover a broad spectrum of Islamic knowledge, grouped in seven units…
1. Sources: The Holy Qur’an, Hadith (Prophet’s tradition), and Science of sources.
2. Faith: Principles of faith (Tawhid) and Comparative religion.
3. Worship: Purification, Prayer, Zakah (Alms), Fasting and Hajj (Pilfrimage).
4. Conduct: Morals and Manners.
5. Family: Marriage and Inheritance.
6. Economy: Wealth, Trade and Business.
7. The Nation: The State. Penalties, and Jihad.

If you think about such issues, you will ask yourself whether such a religion actually exists. The answer is “yes”. Indeed, this one, unified religion has existed since the beginning of creation, revealed by Allah to His chosen prophets who were sent to His peoples. “Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam. Those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) did not differ except, out of mutual jealousy, after knowledge had come to them. And whoever disbelieves in the Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, then surely, Allah is Swift in calling to account.”, said the Almighty Allah (Surat: The Family of Imran (Ali-Emran), verse no. 19). He also said: “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.” (Surat: The Family of Emran (Ali-Emran), verse no. 85.( Therefore, all religions came from Allah, but some people have erroneously named thier religions after thier prophets according to each era. This inappropriate designation is the origin of dispute and fanaticism among several communities. However, this division has caused humanity to forget about the true religion to a great extent. Islam was called “Mohammedanism”, attributed to Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him), as other religions were also called after the names of their prophets, despite that all prophets recognize a single faith and urge their people to worship only one God – “Allah.” Although I am not a preacher, I feel that it is my duty to explain briefly the meaning of this religion because if the followers of other religions were to remain ignorant of Islam and its teachings, their prejudgment of Islam would lead them to misunderstand the foundations of this religion and will never be guided.

Islam may be the most misunderstood faith in history. Most of us learn little or nothing about Islam in school; in fact, our knowledge of Muslims may be restricted to news reports on the Middle East and Louis Farrakhan. Surprise – the vast majority of Muslims aren’t Arabs, the Muslim Allah is very much the “one God” Christians and Jews believe in, many of the scientific and medical innovations we take for granted were passed on by Muslims, and the popular myths about Muslims often have little to do with the real beliefs of Islam.CIG to Islam reveals fascinating facts about Islam, showing readers that Muslims, so often demonized in the U.S., are more like “us” than we think; they accept both the Old and New Testaments as holy books and accept Moses and Jesus as prophets. The book offers tips on Muslim culture, actual quotes from the Qur’an, the Prophet Muhammad, and prominent scholars, and answers to questions regarding everyday life from the Muslim perspective.

Abul A‘la Al-Mawdudi | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 22 | Size: 1.5 MB
The chief characteristic of the Islamic Concept of Life is that it does not admit a conflict, nay, not even a significant separation between life-spiritual and life-mundane. It does not confine itself merely in purifying the spiritual and the moral life of man in the limited sense of the word. Its domain extends to the entire gamut of life. It wants to mould individual life as well as the social order in healthy patterns, so that the Kingdom of God may really be established on the earth and so that peace, contentment and well-being may fill the world as waters fill the oceans. The Islamic Way of Life is based on this unique approach to life and a peculiar concept of man’s place in the Universe. That is why it is necessary that before we proceed to discuss the moral, social, political and economic systems of Islam, we should have a clear idea of the Islamic Concept of Life. There are certain basic postulates which should be understood and appreciated at the very outset. These postulates are as follows… Read the rest of this entry »

Before you is a complete translation of the great classical treatise “Thalaathat-ul-Usool” [The Three Fundamental Principles] of Imaam Muhammad bin ‘Abdil-Wahhaab. The source used for this translation was a booklet with the title “The Creed of the Saved Sect” printed by Maktab-ul-Islamee in 1993 [5th Edition] with checking by Zuhair Shawaish. This book is not to be confused with “al-Usool-uth-Thalaatha” which is another work written by Imaam Ibn ‘Abdul-Wahhaab. This treatise needs no introduction, as it is one of the Islamic works that is most studied and taught throughout the world. In fact, many of the scholars recommend the students of knowledge to begin their path of learning by studying and mastering this booklet. The reason for this is because it was written by the author in a simple manner and comprising of the basic fundamentals of this Religion in brief. The material contained in the treatise was designed to be easily memorized and understood. It is our intent, by producing this treatise, to provide the English audience with the source of this tremendous work so that they may study it in gatherings and use it as a reference. There are several explanations available for “The Three Fundamental Principles” that were written in recent times, such as that of Imaam Muhammad bin Saalih Al-‘Uthaimeen, Shaikh Zayd Al-Madkhalee and Shaikh Saalih Aali Shaikh.

Every religion of the world has been named either after its founder or after the community or nation in which it was born. For instance, Christianity takes its name from its prophet Jesus Christ; Buddhism from its founder, Gautama Buddha; Zoroastrianism from its founder Zoroaster-, and Judaism, the religion of the Jews, from the name of the tribe Judah (of the country of Judea) where it originated. The same is true of all other religions except Islam, which enjoys the unique distinction of having no such association with any particular person or people or country. Nor is it the product of any human mind. It is a universal religion and its objective is to create and cultivate in man the quality and attitude of Islam.
Islam, in fact, is an attributive title. Anyone who possesses this attribute, whatever race, community, country or group he belongs to, is a Muslim. According to the Qur’an (the Holy Book of the Muslims), among every people and in all ages there have been good and righteous people who possessed this attribute – and all of them were and are Muslims. Islam – What Does it Mean?

Ever since its advent, Islam has been engaged in a continuous struggle against the repeated endeavours to obliterate the truth for which it stands. This struggle will continue until the world comes to an end, since the struggle between truth and falsehood and between virtue and sin is eternal and began with the creation of man and will continue as long as mankind inhabits the earth.
